Lifeline Fire & Security Adds Holiday Cheer At Leeward Child & Family Services
Ewa Beach, Hawaii – Each week dozens of families in Leeward Oahu visit the Child & Family Service (CFS) Family Center, a welcoming place to receive basic supplies such as clothing and diapers as well as access to a full range of CFS family strengthening services.
This year, thanks to a generous donation of time and support from Lifeline Fire and Security, the CFS Family Center is also welcoming families with the lights and decorations of holiday cheer.
Lifeline Fire and Security volunteered staff time and a lift truck to assist CFS staff members with wrapping lights on four Royal Palm trees located in the center of the turnabout at the CFS Family Center facility.
According to CFS President and Chief Executive Officer Howard Garval, the idea to wrap the trees originated with the nonprofit’s Community Kokua Team, and the kokua of Lifeline Fire and Security made it a reality.
“We greatly appreciate the generous spirit of Lifeline Fire and Security in giving of their time and equipment to bring a joyous beacon of light to the CFS Family Center at this holiday season,” Garval said. “We would not be able to reach the heights of the palm trees with lights without their help.”
Garval said that this is the first year that the palm trees have been wrapped with lights.
Todd Bedford, president of Lifeline Fire and Security, added that the company was pleased to help make an impact on the lives of families at this holiday time. “We very much appreciate our partnership with CFS, and our employees were pleased to contribute to their efforts to support the work of CFS in serving families in Hawaii,” he said.
CFS is one of Hawaii’s largest nonprofit organizations with 50 family strengthening programs statewide. Lifeline Fire and Security is headquartered in the Kapolei area and provides security systems for CFS facilities in Ewa as well as its domestic violence shelters on the Big Island.
